Morphy Chess — Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Morphy Chess app and website. By playing, you agree to them.

Your licence to play

Morphy Chess is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial play. You may not sell it, rent it, reverse-engineer it, or build a competing product out of it. We keep all rights to the game, its artwork, its puzzles, and its name.

Coins, lives, and skills

Coins, lives and skills are in-game items with no real-world value. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another player, or redeemed outside the game. They may be lost if you delete the app without a linked account.

Some of these items can be bought with real money. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their own terms, and refunds are theirs to grant, not ours. Everything we sell is consumable — once spent, it is gone, and Apple does not restore consumable purchases.

We may change the price of items, the rate at which they are earned, or the balance of the game itself. We may also retire an item, in which case anything you already hold stays usable for as long as it reasonably can.

Playing fair

The leaderboard only means something if it is honest. So:

• No cheating, no modified clients, no automation or bots.
• No exploiting bugs to gain coins, lives, or rank. Tell us instead.
• Choose a display name others will not find offensive.

We may remove a name or a score that breaks these rules, and in serious or repeated cases we may close an account.

Your account

You do not need to sign in to play. If you do sign in, you are responsible for keeping access to that account. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings → Save Progress in the app.

The service itself

The game is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running and to keep your save safe, but we cannot promise the service will never be interrupted, and we are not liable for lost progress beyond restoring what our backups hold.

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the game. If we ever shut the service down entirely, we will give reasonable notice in the app.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the consumer law of your own country.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and say so in the app.
