Morphy Chess — Privacy Policy

Morphy Chess is a chess puzzle game. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the iOS and Android versions of the app.
The short version
- Your progress is stored on your device, and a copy is kept on our servers so you can move to a new phone without losing it.
- We never sell your data.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.
- The app asks permission before using your device's advertising identifier. If you say no, the game works exactly the same.
What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, your photos, your location, or any health or financial information. We do not ask for your email address in order to play; if you contact us through the in-app form, you choose whether to give us one.
Advertising and attribution
We run ads for the game on other apps and websites. To know whether those ads are worth paying for, we need to know that an install came from a particular ad — and that is the only thing this is used for.
On first launch, iOS asks whether Morphy Chess may track you across other companies' apps and websites. That prompt is Apple's App Tracking Transparency dialog, and your answer decides what happens next:
- If you allow it, the app shares your device's advertising identifier with our attribution partner, Tenjin, which passes it to the ad network that showed you the ad — for example Meta or TikTok — so that install can be matched to that ad.
- If you decline, no advertising identifier leaves your device. Installs are then counted only through Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports totals for a campaign and never identifies who you are.
You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS, or Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android. The game itself is identical either way — nothing is locked, slowed, or withheld based on your answer, and Morphy Chess does not display ads inside the game.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of established services. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — stores your saved game, signs you in, collects usage and crash data. Privacy
- RevenueCat — processes and verifies in-app purchases. Privacy
- Tenjin — measures which ad brought each install. Privacy
- Apple and Google — handle payment for anything you buy. We never see your card details.
The leaderboard
Your display name and star total appear on a public leaderboard visible to other players. Nothing else about you is shown there. Clearing your name in Settings removes you from it.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Save Progress in the app and choose to delete your account. This erases your saved game, your purchase records, and your leaderboard entry from our servers, and cannot be undone. It works whether or not you have signed in.
Deleting the app alone does not delete the server copy — use the control above if that is what you want. You may also write to us at the address below and we will do it for you.
Children
Morphy Chess is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California — you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. The deletion control in the app does this immediately; for anything else, write to us and we will respond.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the attribution described above.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, say so in the app.
